Keep Your Home Organized Year-Round

October 8, 2022

Do you struggle with keeping your home clean and organized? You might have certain times of the year when you buy new bins and declutter, but it doesn’t last more than a few weeks. Now is a great time to restructure how you organize everything and create a plan that helps you stay organized year-round.

Have a Place for Everything

This advice may seem obvious. Its actually more effective than you might think. If you don’t assign a designated spot, for everything in your home no matter how insignificant it may appear your living space will remain cluttered and disorganized. Begin by examining each room and assessing every area within it. Are there any items? Do you have things that are frequently moved around? Are there drawers filled with junk? These are areas where you can start organizing and finding a place, for each item.

Make it Easier for Yourself

Make keeping your home organized as easy as possible. Get everything you need right now, including storage bins, baskets, boxes, new furniture that stores more items, labels, and anything else that you think might help.

This can be a gradual process, especially since these items can get expensive. You might also want to start by using bins and baskets you already have, but find a new use for them. It is an excellent way to reduce waste and reuse items you would have otherwise thrown away.

Declutter Your Home Often

It’s an idea to go through your home maybe once a month and tidy up areas that tend to get messy. You might come across things that you no longer need or haven’t used much as you initially expected. If there are items that don’t seem to have a designated spot or have been tucked away in a drawer for years it’s usually an indication that they’re not as significant or necessary, to you as you once believed.

Do 5-10 Minute Cleaning Every Day

You don’t have to feel obligated to spend your Saturday cleaning every weekend. Instead consider setting aside a few minutes each day to tidy up and organize areas of your home. Set a timer for 10 minutes. Focus on cleaning and organizing efficiently as possible during that time. You can even do this times throughout the day whenever you have a spare minutes.
